Vision for 2010

‘A PENTECOSTAL Conference’
The vision for the 28th PCNAK youth session is to FOCUS on the basics – on the purpose the founding leaders of PCNAK envisioned when they initiated this conference. My vision is to focus on the ‘P’ in PCNAK- PENTECOSTAL.
We are living in times when we are losing our Pentecostal identity. Many are called Pentecostals by virtue of being born to pentecostal parents or attending pentecostal churches. However, Pentecostalism is not a label but rather an experience. Pentecostalism is a movement and we need a generation that is equipped to lead this movement. We need the manifestation of all the gifts of the Holy Spirit in our churches. We need a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit as in the apostolic days. We don’t need to wait till the conference for such a revival, however, my desire and prayer is that the 28th PCNAK will be a significant milestone in this revival. This is the vision for the conference- a true Pentecostal conference. Please pray that this vision will be fulfilled.
The planning and preparations for the conference are progressing well. More details will be updated on the website in a timely manner. As we plan and prepare for the next conference, we will be FOCUSed on the following guiding principles:
Fellowship: PCNAK serves as a venue for many to renew their friendships, have family reunions and also make new friends. Furthermore, we want to ensure that the conference provides networking and ministerial partnering opportunities for our youth leaders, youth pastors, counselors, writers, music leaders and others ministering in our community and churches to share experiences, encourage each other and to learn together so that they can be better equipped for effective service. We will serve to build and strengthen the Christian love and fellowship in our community.
Ownership: The success of the conference and its future depends on how much everyone is willing to partner and invest in it. For the conference to succeed, its attendees should have a sense of ownership in it. By the grace of God, the youth in our community have the resources to make the conference financially viable. We must take the financial ownership of this conference. I humbly request that every young person contribute to the financial needs of this conference to the best of your ability. It is extremely sad and unfortunate to see the primetime of our Saturday and Sunday services being used for fund raising. Please, no more! Contribute early. Take ownership!
Community: As a community we face common challenges, pressures, needs and opportunities. There are issues we tend to ignore or deny its existence than acknowledge and work to address it. I believe PCNAK and the umbrella it provides can play a constructive role in the spiritual, moral and social upliftment of our community. Our rich heritage needs to be preserved. We need to build a caring and morally sound community that can be a model to the people around us. This year, we will work to incorporate programs, and efforts through resources like the website and other publications to help address some of these issues.
Unity: PCNAK serves as a testament to the commitment of our community to unity. It is an example to the Malayalee Pentecostal community across the world. We will work to ensure that the conference fosters and strengthens our unity. Being a national conference, we will maintain a national perspective in our planning and execution and earn your cooperation and support. We remain open to your suggestions for a blessed conference.
Spiritual: Our primary focus is the spiritual aspect of the conference. As mentioned earlier, the FOCUS is on the “P” in PCNAK- Pentecostal. We are committed to ensuring that all programs are oriented towards spiritual learning, growth and edification. Come with prepared hearts, pray earnestly for all the ministers and let all hindrances be removed such that the Spirit of God can deal with lives. Our prayer is that there will be no personal promotions or words of persuasion but a strong demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit. We surrender ourselves to the guidance of the Spirit.
I am humbled at the opportunity to serve as the Youth Coordinator. Along with the rest of the leadership team, I assure you that we will serve to the best of our abilities. In our areas of weakness, we trust in the grace of God to strengthen us. Please pray for the leadership team that our hearts and minds will be upright before God and that we can serve with humility and dedication. May the name of the Lord alone be glorified in everything.
Please let us know your ideas, suggestions and comments. Continue to check the website frequently for updates. Register early.
Partner, Participate and Pray.
